This bundle contains three great lesson plans to teach children all about Lent. It is suitable for ages 5-7. The three lessons are:
1) Ash Wednesday/Start of Lent,
2) Lent - Giving Something Up; and
3) Lent - Doing Good Deeds.
Each pdf lesson plan contains detailed instructions, a list of objectives for three levels of abilities, questions and answers for the children, whole class discussions and literacy activities for the children to do at their desks. This is a pack of four RE plans, perfect for using during the Christmas season.
The lessons are aimed at KS2 and are all highly interactive, using a range of enjoyable activities to teach the Christmas story and its messages. The themes that are covered include trust, refugees, spreading the word of God and similarities and differences.
Each lesson includes a detailed PDF lesson plan with learning objectives, as well as a PowerPoint presentation telling the story. The PowerPoints are not editable. Click ‘Read Only’ to open. Some of the images are only revealed when the PowerPoints are played as slideshows with the animations.

KS1 Christmas RE Unit - 4 lessons
This is a 3 page plan and a 14 slide PowerPoint presentation for an assembly on love. In this assembly, children are encouraged to think about love being patient. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute! You can use the plan on its own or alongside the PowerPoint. (This is not editable. I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So this assembly involves a long anecdote on a childhood incident where the assembly leader is impatient. You can use the example in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood. The assembly includes a quote from the bible and an example prayer/reflection to finish with.

The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 3-4 questions per page. Answers are also included.

This is an assembly plan to teach children about Lent and why Christians perform good deeds during Lent. It is suitable for ages 5 -11. The 4 page plan (pdf) includes an introduction, an anecdote relevant to the children, a parable, a reflection and a prayer to finish. It is highly interactive, with questions and answers throughout.
An optional 19 slide PowerPoint (This is non-editable - click ‘Read Only’ to open) is also included. It contains information about Lent, the anecdote, suggested good deeds and an illustrated version of the parable.
No resources are needed, so the plan is ideal to use without requiring preparation.

This is a 4 page plan for an assembly (pdf) on Ash Wednesday, with a focus on the theme of consequences for our actions. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
